Reading this week of the dairy farmers throwing away litres of milk because their normal coffee chains, airlines and outlets are frozen is beyond tragic. On a smaller scale, the hundreds of litres we normally use in our cafe have been bought by our amazing customers, in our picknpack service. It makes me so happy to know that our local dairy has carried on as 'normal' and these cows know no different in this extraordinary climate. Ever since my husband and I started a farmshop we've lived off leftovers! All the things that didn't tickle the fancy of our customers that particular day. And almost every week of this seven year journey, I turn these leftovers into a quiche with the eggs from my hens.
