In case you missed it, I wrote a column for the EDP recently championing the power of collaborations.

Events and coordination with other businesses have been invaluable as we grow. While we've championed the 'tiny' supplier, this May half term we are bridging the two worlds by partnering with The Picturehouse Cinema to bring you their outdoor screen, in our orchards underneath the stars. There will be four film nights featuring classic child friendly films, each starting at sunset for maximum ambience. They are the first national firm we will have worked with, with 26 cinemas around the country. Their 'local' ethos is felt in Norwich City with their upmarket, personal cinema experience and restaurant. We hope they will add a new layer of entertainment to the farm, an anomaly for our loyal customers who have supported us over the years. Some will have picked berries in the field where the big screen sits.
Aptly, the event will be sponsored by Ribena who serendipitously the farm once supplied with blackcurrants years ago. East Anglia more generally, has a history of growing blackcurrants and a great affinity with Ribena having grown a quarter of their crop back in the 1960s. The first Pick Your Own, that we have evolved from, was started almost accidentally, as a result of a bumper crop designated for commercial purposes. A bit of quick thinking led to a temporary 'PYO' sign on Blue Boar Lane and so the concept came into fruition as customers turned up with any vessel they could find to enjoy the bounty. It was believed to have been one of the first of its kind in the country.
It's funny how cycles go, how luck weaves her fortuitous thread and where the evolution of 'farming' and its diversity can take you. It's been quite a journey and we never know what's around the corner but this seems a fitting partnership and we're excited to merge our agricultural roots with the big screen this Spring.

Thank you to the @eastern_daily_press for featuring my column today sharing my enthusiasm for hen keeping!
The average UK family throws away 12 weeks’ worth of food every year—roughly £60 a month straight into the bin. It's heartbreaking. Nationally, we discard 9.5 million tonnes each year, particularly at a time when food costs are at an all-time high.
Yet where rural folks have the space, I really think keeping hens could save the day. You can read the full article via the link in my bio.🐔🐣
See my rescue hens here reading all about it! And me, with 'Granny Peck's learning the ropes a long time ago. ❤️

We are so lucky to have art student Lily working with us who turns all our creative menus into masterpieces. It's truly a team effort at White House Farm and all our chirpy staff add a touch of magic to the experience.
